Chiropractic Care
in Chicago's West Loop

Not a quick crack and out the door. Every adjustment at Renewed Body is precise, targeted, and built around what your body actually needs — restoring joint motion, reducing nerve irritation, and giving your body the mechanical foundation it needs to heal and perform.

What a Chiropractic Adjustment Actually Does

A chiropractic adjustment applies a precise, controlled force to a restricted spinal or extremity joint to restore its normal range of motion. When a joint loses mobility — from injury, repetitive stress, poor posture, or accumulated tension — it creates a cascade of problems: the surrounding muscles tighten to guard it, nearby nerves get irritated, and movement patterns shift to compensate. Pain follows.

The adjustment reverses that cascade. By restoring motion to the restricted joint, muscle guarding reduces, nerve irritation decreases, and the body can move through its full range without compensation. Most patients notice reduced pain, improved mobility, and less muscle tension immediately after a visit.

What Adjustments Help With

  • Restricted spinal joints causing back or neck pain

  • Nerve irritation from joint compression

  • Muscle guarding and chronic tension

  • Reduced range of motion from injury or overuse

  • Joint dysfunction contributing to headaches

  • Hip, shoulder, knee, ankle, and wrist joint restriction

  • Movement compensation patterns creating secondary pain

What Patients Typically Notice

  • Immediate reduction in local pain and tension

  • Improved range of motion in the adjusted area

  • Less muscle tightness in the surrounding region

  • Reduced radiating symptoms into arms or legs

  • A sense of reset — easier movement throughout the day

  • Better posture with less effort

  • Improved performance in workouts and daily activity

💡 We Adjust More Than Just the Spine

Most people associate chiropractic with back and neck adjustments. We also adjust extremity joints — shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, ankle, and foot — when joint restriction there is contributing to pain or altered movement mechanics.

If a restricted ankle is driving your knee pain, adjusting the knee alone won't fix it. We find and treat the actual source — wherever it is in the chain.

How We Adjust — Techniques We Use

There is no single adjustment technique that works for every patient and every condition. We select and adapt our approach based on your presentation, comfort, and the specific joint being treated. Techniques we use include:

Diversified Technique

The most widely used chiropractic technique — a specific, high-velocity, low-amplitude thrust that restores joint motion quickly and precisely. The "classic" adjustment most patients are familiar with.

Drop Table Technique (Thompson)

Uses a segmented drop table that briefly gives way as the adjustment is applied — allowing for a comfortable, effective adjustment with less force. Particularly well-suited for lumbar and pelvic adjustments.

Activator Method

A low-force instrument-assisted technique that delivers a controlled impulse to the joint without rotation or a manual thrust — ideal for patients who prefer a gentler approach or have specific contraindications to manual adjusting.

Extremity Adjusting

Specific joint mobilization and adjustment of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, ankle, and foot — addressing restriction in the peripheral joints that contribute to pain and altered movement mechanics.

Cervical Traction

Gently creates space between compressed cervical vertebrae — reducing pressure on discs and nerve roots, particularly effective for radiating arm symptoms and cervical disc involvement.
